THE TEAM

This team of high performers connects our people and technology to deliver seamless IT operations every day.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The General Manager, IT Enterprise Architecture will steward the intersection of business objectives and IT by designing, implementing, and overseeing efficient business technologies. You will work to define the current and future IT architecture to deliver the capabilities that meet the organizations goals and strategic direction. 

This role will work across the organization, alongside the IT Business Partners, to determine business unit needs that can be achieved with enterprise solutions that are implemented through collaborative design and solutioning. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with robust analytical skills to conduct business reviews, document current systems and develop recommendations on enterprise systems integration and compatibility. You are responsible for the technical correctness and completeness of the integrated systems design and contribute to the planning of the IT strategy.

Key responsibilities for this role include: 

•Leading the IT Architecture Design on behalf of the YYC and within assigned projects 
•Modeling and conducting thorough assessments of complex IT solutions to advise on project design, cost, and expected benefit 
•Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and elicit information pertinent to solution planning, scoping, and delivery 
•Establishing, documenting, and communicating the technical vision for solutions and products in alignment with business outcomes
•Evaluating and analyzing existing systems and system integrations in relation to organizational impact
•Driving change as a trusted partner to senior leadership and identifying where groups can invest resources to increase business performance
•Collaborating with IT Leaders, Business Leaders, vendors and third-party solution providers on IT technology standards, patterns, and approaches
•Contributing to the IT Leadership Team for strategy development and collaborating to deliver solution & design artifacts 
•Guiding the advancement of organizational objectives through IT solutions 

WHAT YOU BRING

•Bachelor of Computer Science (or combination of relevant experience and education), along with 12-15 years of IT technology, IT operations, leadership, and strategy experience 
•Experienced in producing IT architecture artifacts
•Strong experience in developing long term technology plans and demonstrated ability to execute on these plans and strategies successfully
•Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills with a proven ability to source and implement practical, scalable, and efficient technology solutions
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical concepts into plain language
•Experience in aviation related systems and technologies is considered an asset
•Experience with cloud architecture considered and asset i.e. AWS certified solution architect and/or Azure certified
•Certifications in TOGAF, Zachman are preferred (other certifications would be considered)

•Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
