WHAT WILL YOU DO
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the recruitment process to attract, source, and hire top talent for the organization. This role involves partnering with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs, developing recruitment strategies, and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage full life cycle recruitment while working with business stakeholders. Filling positions in a timely manner to ensure the business continuity of that area.
- Complete hiring process within defined metrics to minimize overall time-to-start.
- Partner with business stakeholders to create successful recruiting campaigns including sourcing strategy, assessment criteria, interview strategies and designing job-specific test scenarios.
- Screen resumes, shortlist candidates that fit the recruitment strategy, and conduct in-depth interviews to assess fit and skills, providing recommendations to business stakeholders.
- Proactively source talent through multiple channels including social networking, web-based searches, and networking to attract both active and passive candidates and create and capture talent pipelines.
- Coach business stakeholders and interview teams on best practices throughout the recruitment process.
- Ensure employer brand is present through the recruiting process with a focus on advancing the candidate experience.
- Develop consistent recruitment tools and templates to support full cycle recruitment through a lens of inclusion identifying process improvements, potential barriers, and inclusive language.
- Assist to maintain post-secondary institution partnership and relationships.
- Support presentations, presence at recruiting events, and advertising opportunities as required.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of the capabilities and potential benefits of current and emerging HR trends to ensure a commitment to innovation and improvement.
- Work occasionally outside normal business hours to support candidate experience and recruitment events.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline is required.
- 3+ years’ experience working in talent acquisition conducting full cycle recruitment is required.
- A strong collaborator who is skilled at building credibility and effective working relationships at all levels through exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Works proactively and takes ownership of responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – highly articulate and able to present point of view in a clear and concise manner.
- Superior ability to manage time and prioritize while maintaining a high sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated self-starter with high energy, capable of functioning in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
- Experience utilizing HRIS Applications
- Solid understanding of various social media platforms and how to leverage these within a recruitment portfolio.
- Proven capability of executing talent acquisition strategies that are aligned with the organization’s core values and business strategy.
- Strong project management skills with ability to set sub-goals and timelines.
WHAT OPTIONAL ELEMENTS SUPPORT YOUR APPLICATION (all are assets)
- Bilingual in English or French.
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce preferred.
- Holding an Exercise Design Certificate would be considered an asset.
- Experience in a unionized environment considered an asset.
- Current, or working towards, Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) or Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation considered an asset.
