OUR TEAM
The Air Service Development (ASD) team grows airline capacity by working with key stakeholders and our air carriers to add new flights, increase frequencies, and up-gauge aircraft. ASD works to provide a valuable service to the community by driving exceptional client relationships through clear communication, collaboration, streamlining processes, and providing access to information. Our ASD team is always on the go with a focus on growing YYC. They work very hard, and like the rest of our people, they know how to have fun!

The Calgary Airport Authority manages and operates YYC Calgary International Airport and YBW Springbank Airport and collaborates with the many partners who make up YYC - from airlines to government agencies and retail outlets. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Under the supervision of the Manager, Air Service Development, you will be assisting the Air Service Development team with some very important and exciting projects that help expand the air service offered at YYC. This role provides you the opportunity to gain work experience in airport administration focused on Air Service Development.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Identify and analyze opportunities for new route development
- Create and present business cases on a variety of strategic topics; examples include target routes/destinations, tourism trends, Canadian airport comparisons, target airlines, etc.
- Update business plans for air cargo, passenger and tourism segments
- Assist with planning and organizing client and industry events/conferences
- Administrative support; compile data for reporting and distribution
- Create and update presentations, maintain and update files and records
- Organize logistics for meetings with freight carriers and airline partners
- Support the Air Service Development team with other assigned projects and tasks as required
WHAT YOU BRING
- Currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution - a focus in Business Administration is considered an asset but not mandatory
- Highly enthusiastic individual that has the ability to take initiative and effectively collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and research skills and high proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database software
- A passion for aviation is considered an asset
- Ability to work effectively with a team member as well as independently
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality results
- Strong organizational skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication
WHAT ELSE?
- To qualify as a co-op or internship student, you must be enrolled in a post-secondary program where a work term is a formal requirement of the program and provide documentation to that effect.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a restricted area identification card (RAIC).
