Hourly Rate: $23.50 

Status: Full-Time, 6 Month term, expected start date May 2026 

Work environment: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days WFH)

WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE 

The Spatial Data Services (SDS) team plays a key role in keeping both Calgary International Airport and Spring Bank Airport running smoothly. We manage accurate records of all facility assets and use a range of spatial technologies to bring that data to life. Whether it’s mapping, drafting, or creating visual tools, our work helps teams across the organization make informed decisions and support daily airport operations. 

As a student on this team, you’ll join a group that’s collaborative, tech savvy, and always eager to share knowledge. You’ll get Handson experience with real spatial data, cool tools, and meaningful projects, all while being supported by a team that values curiosity, learning, and fresh ideas. 

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Perform creation, maintenance, and processing of datasets for our GIS system using ESRI software. 
  • Convert CADD data to various GIS file formats using FME. 
  • Collect and verify field data. 
  • Create operational graphics. 
  • Provide administrative support and other duties as required. 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING 

  • We welcome applications from students who meet one of the following criteria: You must be enrolled in a post‑secondary diploma or bachelor’s program in GIS Technologies or a related field and
    (a) be registered in a co‑op work term that aligns with the term of this role, or
    (b) be enrolled in a program where a work term is required to graduate.
    In either case, you must be able to provide documentation and confirm that you will be returning to school after the work term is completed.
  • You’ll need to be eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC, don’t worry – we’ll help you through this! For more details, check out: RAIC Program and Application Information 
  • Knowledge of the ESRI suite, including ArcPro and ArcGIS Online.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.  
  • Strong organizational skills

WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET 

  • Bilingual in English and French 
  • Experience with AutoCAD, FME, Microsoft Access, and SQL Server is an asset.
