WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE
The Commercial Analytics team at Calgary Airports works with various Commercial teams including Ground Transportation & Parking, Retail & Hospitality, Air Service Development and Advertising & Sponsorship to optimize revenue and enhance passenger experience. Their work matters because commercial activity helps drive airport sustainability and supports the services guests rely on every day. The team collaborates with partners across the airport to optimize pricing, measure & steer commercial performance, understand & optimize passenger traffic, and shape retail and parking strategies. As a co‑op student, you’ll join a fast‑paced, highly engaged team that values creativity, curiosity, and data‑driven thinking.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing commercial and operational data
- Help prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations on commercial performance and guest trends
- Conduct market and competitor research using public and industry sources, then synthesize findings into basic competitive insights for commercial planning
- Support forecasting and budgeting activities by learning driver‑based thinking, assisting with simple forecasts, and documenting opportunities/risks found in historical trends
- Learn the foundations of revenue management, supporting early work related to pricing, yield/optimization concepts, and KPI‑aligned performance monitoring as needed
- Support projects with real commercial impact, contributing analysis for items like campaign performance, concession reviews, passenger behavior studies, or lookbacks on past deals to inform future decisions
- Help improve workflows over time by documenting processes, streamlining repeatable tasks, and suggesting practical enhancements to tools, resourcing visibility, or automation opportunities
- Provide general administrative and project support to the Commercial Analytics team
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING
- We welcome applications from students who meet one of the following criteria: You must be enrolled in a post‑secondary diploma or bachelor’s program in Business, Commerce, Economics, Marketing, Aviation Management or a related field and (a) be registered in a co‑op work term that aligns with the term of this role, or (b) be enrolled in a program where a work term is required to graduate.
In either case, you must be able to provide documentation and confirm that you will be returning to school after the work term is completed.

- Coursework or experience involving business analysis, marketing, data, or customer experience
- Ability to work with structured documentation, maintain organized records, and follow established processes
WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET
- Bilingual in English and French
- Experience working with Excel, spreadsheets, or basic data analysis for school or personal projects.
- Exposure to market research, business cases, or financial analysis through coursework.
- Comfort working with presentations, visuals, or digital tools to communicate ideas.
- Interest in retail, commercial strategy, real estate, or aviation business.
