WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE

The Structural Engineering team at Calgary Airports is responsible for the planning, assessment, and ongoing maintenance of critical airport structures, including terminals, parkades, and ground assets. This work is essential to ensuring the safety, reliability, and longterm performance of one of Canada’s busiest airports. By working closely with operations, maintenance, and project delivery teams, the group helps deliver safe, compliant, and costeffective infrastructure solutions that support uninterrupted airport operations and longterm organizational success.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support handson auditing and verification of structural projects like roof replacement, structural building condition assessment, and building standards development.
  • Assist with 3D scanning of facilities assets to capture accurate asbuilt conditions.
  • Tag and validate verified assets within 3D models, including linking confirmed asset data and documentation.
  • Help reconcile existing drawings, models, and asset records with verified site conditions.
  • Prepare verification logs, technical summaries, and supporting documentation for engineering and facilities teams.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

  • To qualify for a Coop or Internship position, you must be Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (2nd–4th year), that requires a work term as a formal component of the curriculum, and you must provide documentation confirming that the work term is an academic requirement.

WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET

  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Experience working with engineering drawings or models through coursework or projects.
  • Experience following formal procedures or safety requirements in structured environments.
  • Interest and exposure to structural systems and infrastructure engineering.
