Training & Standards Summer Student


Hourly Rate: $22.00 

Status: Full-Time, 4 Month Term, expected start date May 2026 

Work environment: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days WFH)

WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE 

The Airfield Operations team keeps all airside and groundside areas outside the terminal safe, functional, and well‑maintained year‑round. From winter snow and ice control to summer pavement repairs, surface markings, and vegetation management, their work ensures smooth aircraft movement and safe airport roadways. In Standards & Training, you"ll support a team committed to high-quality operations and continuous improvement, helping ensure every crew member is well‑trained and confident. Students join a learning‑focused environment that offers a unique look into how a major airport runs behind the scenes. 

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Help develop, coordinate, and support airfield training programs
  • Assist with updating operational procedures, training guides, and reference materials.  
  • Support annual reviews of training content to keep materials accurate and current. 
  • Help manage training records and ensure documentation is properly organized.  
  • Work with internal teams to ensure training materials are current, branded, and stored correctly.  
  • Use Microsoft tools to support digital training processes and improve workflows.  
  • Assist in creating and updating training content using graphics, video, or learning design tools. design tools 
  • Help maintain and update Dayforce Learning as required. 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING 

  • To qualify for a Summer Student position, you must be enrolled in a post-secondary program, some related fields are Human resources, Adult learning, Education, Graphic design, communications etc., but is open to students from all disciplines who are interested in gaining experienced in a training and standards environment and must return to your studies after completing the summer work term and provide documentation confirming your continued enrollment.
  • You’ll need to be eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC, don’t worry – we’ll help you through this! For more details, check out: RAIC Program and Application Information 
  • Strong capacity for critical thinking is important.  
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft excel, word, PowerPoint and outlook. 
  • Evidenced strength in social and emotional intelligence. 
  • Ability to work effectively with a team as well as individually. 
  • Strong organizational skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication. 

WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET 

  • Bilingual in English and French. 
  • Exposure learning platforms or digital training tools through coursework or personal use. 
  • Experience creating or updating simple training content, such as presentations, guides, or visual materials.

  • Assist with updating operational procedures, training guides, and reference materials.  
  • Support annual reviews of training content to keep materials accurate and current. 
  • Help manage training records and ensure documentation is properly organized.  
  • Work with internal teams to ensure training materials are current, branded, and stored correctly.  
  • Use Microsoft tools to support digital training processes and improve workflows.  
  • Assist in creating and updating training content using graphics, video, or learning design tools. design tools
