WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE

The Integrated Operations Centre team oversees the day-to-day operations of a busy international airport, ensuring the safe, efficient, and seamless movement of passengers and aircraft. This 24/7 team coordinates groups such as airlines, internal partners, and security to proactively manage disruptions and maintain operational flow. It’s a fast-paced environment where quick thinking, strong communication, and teamwork are essential.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead and support day-of airport operations, serving as the critical decision maker during operational challenges and acting as the key liaison with Business Recovery and Crisis Management teams.
  • Monitor and report on planned and unplanned activities such as labor actions, traffic management initiatives, and cascading impacts from other airports or agencies.
  • Lead capacity management initiatives, including weather analysis and preparatory measures, and coordinate planning calls with relevant stakeholders to ensure operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with Communications, Security, Safety, and Environment teams to make informed decisions and provide media statements during events impacting guest experience.
  • Activate the Airport Emergency Operations Centre and represent the IOC in high-level events when required.
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) team, ensuring effective day-of operational delivery, performance coaching, and alignment with YYC’s core values.
  • Provide operational leadership and decision-making support, resolving policy and procedure violations that impact day-of operations while ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
  • Work twelve (12) hour shifts through varying hours of the day, 24/7/365.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a RAIC (RAIC Program and Application Information)
  • Post-secondary education in Aviation Management, Operations or Business Management, or related discipline. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience navigating complex operational challenges and making critical decisions, with a strong preference for experience in the aviation industry.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of direct experience leading people, or a minimum of 3+ years of experience leading and influencing teams effectively in a matrix environment.

WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET

  • Bilingual in English and French
