Our Terminal Operations team collaborates with multiple business units, tenants, airlines, and other stakeholders within the airport community to ensure that our passengers at YYC have a seamless and positive airport experience.


Working closely with the General Manager, Terminal Operations, you will coordinate all terminal operation activities, project planning and support the day-of delivery team. You live and breathe customer service, have a collaborative approach to work and thrive in an ever-changing environment. Using your experience with active listening and critical thinking you have successfully navigated challenging circumstances and avoided unintended consequences.


  • Support the development of passenger programs such as contractor programs, passenger flow, and irregular & emergency terminal response programs.
  • Respond to events and incidents at the airport including irregular operations, emergency events, and peak operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Terminal Operations Programs through planning sessions, conducting reviews of existing programs, identifying areas for opportunity, and proposing strategies for improvement.
  • Create, review, and update operational documentation in support of Terminal Operations programs.
  • Assist with the implementation and enhancements to programs because of procedural, regulatory or project changes.
  • Observe, solicit, and receive feedback from TOS, volunteer and contract frontline workers and others in the Airport Community to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and advancement.
  • Coordinate and support the onboarding of contracted staff.
  • Understand and follow up on contractual requirements of contractor programs.
  • Collaborate with internal managers and contract managers to ensure that required training is delivered to all staff to align with YYC expectations, Terminal Operations Processes and/or contract deliverables.
  • Prepare for and assist with IROP; inventory; stakeholder collaboration; passenger communication; Passenger flow assessment and improvement.
  • Lead change initiatives related to Terminal Operations Programs.
  • Research, analyze and implement best practices and regulatory requirements with regards to Terminal Operations.
  • Coordinate the ACI survey program; analyze data for status; compile results and create presentations.



  • Minimum 3 years working in the aviation industry or equivalent complex operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge base in airport operations, systems and management is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Experience in creating Documentation (Work instructions, SOP’s, Operating plans).
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAM’s).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and bring order to conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to deliver in a climate of ongoing evaluation and changes.
  • Administrative support of budgets.
  • Ability to work well both individually and in a team environment; ability to work well with a variety of personalities.
  • Ability to prepare management reports, correspondence, contract specifications, minutes, and other documentation as requested.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read floor plans and interpret written procedures and other operational documentation.


  • Ability to solve a variety of issues within a fast paced, customer service-oriented environment.
  • Good understanding of aviation industry and airline operating procedures as they relate to airport operations.
  • Thrives within changing priorities.
  • Natural propensity to work collaboratively.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
