WHAT YOU WILL DO
Working at Springbank Airport and reporting to the Airport General Manager, you will assist in the general maintenance of airport lands while being exposed to different aspects of managing and operating one of the busiest reliever airports in Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 
  • Landscaping requirements – Operate self-propelled mowers, weed trimmers and other various miscellaneous hand tools 
  • Perform general grounds clean up – Foreign object debris pick up, sweeping, painting, etc. 
  • Maintenance of turf areas on airside and groundside airport lands 
  • Performance of Airside and Groundside Site Inspections using Authority vehicles 
  • Operate and maintain light equipment 
  • Assist in other duties required in general airport maintenance 

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License or equivalent, subject to a clean driver’s abstract
  • Enjoy physical work in an outdoor environment
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with others as well as work individually
  • Ability to take ownership and show initiative to complete tasks in an efficient manner
  • Must have steel toed shoes or boots (an allowance will be given)
  • Ability to obtain an Air Radio License and Airside Vehicle Operation Permit (AVOP)
  • Landscaping experience with machinery is considered an asset. 


WHAT ELSE?
  • To qualify as a summer student, you must be enrolled in and returning to a post-secondary institution following your work term.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a restricted area identification card (RAIC)
  • This role is considered safety sensitive and will require a pre-employment drug and alcohol test through a third-party provider 
  • Please note that there is no public transportation to Springbank Airport (175 MacLaurin Dr. Calgary AB T3Z 3S4)
