WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the Manager, Social, Digital and Creative Content, you will be a self-motivated individual who takes initiative. Communications is responsible for supporting the brand reputation of The Calgary Airport Authority as well as The Authority’s strategic and annual business plans through effective internal and external communications, including issues management, and production of range of digital content. The Communications Coordinator will have a passion for content development, good design and attention to detail. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Maintaining brand standards across all marketing and advertising to ensure consistency and compliance throughout YYC.
  • Supporting the development of graphics. This includes development of print and digital communication materials such as social graphics, website/intranet banners, digital screens, program graphics, posters, and templates.
  • Developing content for various projects for both Corporate Communications and Community Engagement (e.g. social channels, eNewsletter programs, YYC blog.
  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring YYC"s Social Media strategy and providing ongoing reports on social metrics for reports and analysis of initiatives.
  • Updating and developing content for the company intranet and website, including proper implementation of metadata, keywords in line with search best practices and knowledge of website & mobile architecture and user experience best practices.
  • Conducting project research including fact-checking and sourcing materials utilized for corporate communication events.
  • Providing support for various Authority events and activities including managing logistics and photography.
  • Collaborating with agency partners and vendors (such as videographers, photographers) to deliver on projects, including the development of briefs, workback schedules and project plans.
  • Media relations support, including monitoring of media activities and coverage and producing reports.
  • Supporting photography and video filming requests received by the Authority.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in Communications, Information Design, Public Relations, Marketing, New Media, Journalism, or other related fields.
  • Previous experience in a corporate communications role.
  • Results oriented, with experience in working to deadlines and the ability to work quickly, using own initiative when required.
  • Experience developing videos and working in Premiere Pro.
  • Experience liaising with agency partners to deliver on projects. Agency experience is an asset.

WHAT ELSE

  • Very strong writing and editing skills, including familiarity with Canadian Press Style Guide.
  • Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and be a strong team player.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft, Adobe, graphic design and video editing software programs, content management tools, and digital media practices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
